My name is Shaharyar and I am an adult psychiatrist. My substantive post is with a small, independent sector hospital in Leeds where I work as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director. I have also worked in the NHS in Leeds as Medical Lead for the West Leeds Community Mental Health Teams.

I am able to provide private psychiatric assessments and recommendations for treatment at HealthWise Leeds Therapy Centre.

Psychiatry is the branch of medicine concerned with mental ill health conditions. As a psychiatrist, I aim to use my training and experience to assess and diagnose mental ill health, which often goes hand in hand with a formulation of the person’s difficulties and a plan of management.

I have worked as a doctor for over 20 years, becoming a consultant in 2008.

I have experience in most common mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, stress, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, PTSD, alcohol/substance misuse and psychosis.

I am also able to provide psychiatric reports in medico-legal cases.
