Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
I have provided Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to adults with a range of psychological difficulties for over 10 years. Before this I worked as an occupational therapist and NHS manager, and have 18 years’ experience within NHS mental health services.
I have studied therapy extensively and have a Masters degree in CBT. I am an accredited therapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) which means I continue to meet their high standards of training and supervision.
I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). After practising this for over 8 years, I am accredited with EMDR Europe, which reflects the particular expertise I have in treating people with difficulties such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
It can often feel difficult to talk to somebody new about personal difficulties. I aim to create a safe space where you can explore the problems you have been experiencing. We will try to understand the relationship between your emotions, thoughts and behaviours. We can then discuss strategies to help you deal with your problems in a different way. The aim is always to help you live a more meaningful life.
